Summer Word Search Fun
Avoid Summer Slide
My oldest has been making a notebook filled with math worksheets and other things in preparation for the summer trips we’ve been planning. She’ll be able to keep herself busy while also practicing everything she learned this past year. (Essentially, she’s created a notebook of things to avoid the “summer slide.”) When she asked me to find her some worksheets to add to the ones she made, I did. I printed off several math sheets. Knowing that she likes word searches, I decided to throw in a bit of fun for her as well. I printed off this summer word search from Education.com for her and my youngest. They both love word searches.
I didn’t suggest this notebook. She just decided on her own. You can bet I’m supporting her on it, though. Especially when my youngest jumped on board and started working on her own. How great is it that my girls can keep up the skills they learned this past school year while having fun doing it!

Summer Preparation for Whatever Happens
Hopefully we’ll still be able to do these few summer trips. There always seems to be a flurry of activity at the end of the school year. This year it seemed tenfold, though. Maybe it’s because we decided, sort of spur of the moment, to list our house for sale and spent the last two weeks getting it ready—painting, cleaning, packing, fixing all the little things that we said we would get to and never did—from sunup to sundown, on top of everything else we had going on. Now that we’ve thrown this ball into the air, we’ll have to wait to see where it lands. One way or another, though, I’ll make sure my girls get a chance to use their notebooks.
Happy summer!

I love these ideas!! My little one still has quite a few years before she starts school but I plan on homeschooling.
Exhausted Mama
I love that you already know you want to homeschool! You’re way ahead of the game if you have a few years until your little one starts school. I was thrown into it this year, but my oldest and I are enjoying it.
