Gifting Books During the Christmas Countdown Can Earn You a Free Book!

img_7534The countdown to Christmas has begun in my family. Each morning, my girls eagerly enter our living room to add another ornament to our Advent Tree and to move the snowflake to show just how many days remain until that magical day.

For children, Christmas is full of magic, joy, and excitement. For parents/grandparents/friends, we have that too, at least I do, but it also comes with the job of finding just the right gifts. With this in mind, I thought I would share some Barefoot Book gift ideas that children will love to receive and adults will feel good about giving.

With everything that is going on in the world right now, I felt a focus on acceptance and compassion was a good way to go. That’s why I picked the following books.

Herb, the Vegetarian Dragon helps children to see that being different isn’t a bad thing, in a comical way. An added bonus is that after reading this book, my three year old knew what an herbivore and carnivore were. She still loves this book, almost 2 years later!

The Princess and the White Bear King is a story that teaches children to see the best in people and that what you see on the outside is not always a good indication of what is on the inside.

The Blue Bird Palace, which is a new release, will help children learn gratitude and to put others first.

The Barefoot Book of Children, also a new release, helps children learn about diversity, inclusivity and acceptance. What’s even better, is for this month (until 11:59pm EST on December 31, 2016), you can get a FREE copy of The Barefoot Book of Children with an order over $50 USD / $65 CAD using the codes WARMHEART in the United States and BIGHEART for Canadian orders.

But these are just a few. You can see all the others here. So, with that being said, and with it being the season of giving, I’ve decided to donate 10% of my Barefoot Books sales this month to charity. Why not get a gift that gives twice!

If you are unfamiliar with Barefoot Books, you can read my post about why I decided to sell them here.

Happy Holidays!!

UPDATE: As of April 2019, I am no longer a Barefoot Books Ambassador. I still highly recommend them though.
