Handmade Thumbprint Bookmarks

Looking for a Father’s Day gift idea? Does your husband or Father read? What goes better with a book than a bookmark? This Sunday, my husband will be getting a father-child themed book from our girls with these handmade thumbprint bookmarks.

The girls had a blast making them and loved being able to “play” with my scrapbooking supplies. They were relatively quick to make (I think it took us about an hour, including gathering supplies and cleaning up, and we made three total, all double-sided).

What we used:

We started with the girls stamping their flowers…

and then I cut them into a bookmark.

My seven-year old then rolled on the adhesive and we stuck it onto their chosen scrapbooking paper, leaving a small border and I once again cut to make the border uniform all the way around.

I folded the Avery See-through Label paper so it would cover both sides of the bookmark and cut it to make it more manageable to deal with.

I sandwiched the bookmark in between the See-through label and cut again…

to make the finished bookmark.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!
