Exhausted Mama goes Barefoot

UPDATE: As of April 2019, I am no longer a Barefoot Books Ambassador. I still highly recommend them though.

I love books. I love becoming absorbed in a story and being taken to another place. But most of all, I love that my daughters love books too. My seven year old is a confident reader and consumes books. She goes through them quicker than I can find them for her. Age appropriate books that will keep her engaged are not easy to find though. She is constantly picking books at the library that I feel are not appropriate for her age. Being a writer and a mother of two, I am constantly on the look out for good books to not only read to my girls but to also improve my craft. You know what they say, if you want to be a good writer, then read, a lot.

So, when my daughters’ school had a book fair with Barefoot Books as a fundraiser, I fell in love. The beautiful artwork used as illustrations in all of the books not only captivated me, but my girls as well. I felt comfortable letting my older daughter choose her books on her own and my three year old quickly picked out multiple books that she wanted.

Once we received our books, I was not disappointed. They have become favorites and have been read and listened to many times.  Add to that the fact that I have been looking for a home based business for awhile that I could whole heartedly get behind, I don’t think you’ll be surprised to hear that I’ve recently become a Barefoot Books Ambassador. With fairy tales, nursery rhymes, sing alongs, a section in the back of a lot of books with non-fiction to supplement the story and so much more, they fit right in with the types of stories my girls and I love.

When my starter kit arrived, we were all thrilled. My girls immediately became absorbed and have been favoriting these items ever since.
