Who is Exhausted Mama?
Honestly, I’m exhausted (all the time), hence the name, but with coffee in hand, I do my best to raise two young girls, pay the bills, manage my husband’s business, keep the fridge stocked, laundry clean, and chauffeur the girls to and from school and extra curricular activities. With my youngest now in school part day, five days a week, I’ve thrown in daily exercise and writing time for myself, all a part of my self-care that I’ve realized I neglected for too long. I’m currently working on the sequel to my middle grade fantasy, The Gardenia Curse, as well as a stand alone novel.
I’m hoping this blog will keep my finding-balance-in-life journey at the forefront of my mind and hopefully help you on your journey. If we want to be the best parents we can be, we need to first start with ourselves and be the best self we can be, and that means taking some time for ourselves. Read about why I believe self-care is so important here. It’s also important to teach this skill to our children. If they see us taking time to care for ourselves, then they’ll learn this skill. If I can teach my daughters self-care, then I will have succeeded in at least one of my parenting goals. Thank you for stopping by!
